bathing the deity

and chanting scripture

and reading classics

he bows with dignity

but will not invite you to stay

as is customary

in his grand hall

suffering from disregard

falling into disrepair

weeds growing among

the planted blossoms

a slightly older man

neither young enough 

to have a master

nor commanding a squad

grey hair but young eyes
